Trying to pay a bill online? The Town online payment portal is back in business. Due to the technical difficulties earlier this week, the business license renewal deadline has been extended to Friday, March 6, 2026. No late fees will be assessed to businesses that renew their licenses by March 6.

Town Attorney

Vienna’s town attorney provides legal counsel and advice to Town Council, staff, and board and commission members. The town attorney’s office also is responsible for prosecution of all misdemeanor criminal and traffic cases. Please note that the town attorney may not provide legal advice to the public.

Duties and Services

Additional services and counsel provided by the town attorney include:

preparing or reviewing ordinances, deeds, easements, and contracts
defending and bringing legal actions in which the Town is a party
composing legislation to be presented to the General Assembly
reviewing Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) requests
supervising services provided by outside legal counsel as necessary.

Court

The Town of Vienna Division of Fairfax County General District Court handles traffic and criminal misdemeanor cases most Mondays at Town Hall.

Records (FOIA) Requests

The Town of Vienna is a proponent of government transparency and strives to respond to resident questions and requests for information promptly. Under the Virginia Freedom of Information Act (FOIA), Virginia residents have the right to inspect or receive copies of public documents.
