Camps
A break from school doesn’t mean that the fun and learning have to stop. When Fairfax County Public Schools go on spring, summer, or winter break, turn to the Town of Vienna Parks and Recreation camp options to keep kids’ bodies moving, minds engaged, and creativity flowing.
Discover new and exciting opportunities that await in our Summer Camp Guide(PDF, 5MB), available seasonally. Register for camps online or at the Vienna Community Center. Summer Camp FAQs(PDF, 170KB) are updated regularly with important information on policy and procedures. See the camp refunds and transfers section below for more information if you have questions regarding cancelling or requesting a camp transfer.
For any camp details or questions about any camp-related programs, see the Town's current Parks and Recreation Programs and Events Guide or call 703-255-6360.

The Summer Playground Program is open for campers that are rising 1st graders to age 11. Join us for a variety of activities including arts and crafts, games, sports and special events. Camp will be a mix of indoor and outside fun!
Summer adventures await in Teen Excursion Camp! In this memorable camp, teens have fun exploring new places with no time for electronic devices. A pre-scheduled excursion takes place daily. Some excursions do not take the whole day. In those cases, campers will return to the Club Phoenix Teen Center where they'll have the opportunity to participate in sports, games, arts and crafts, dance, singing, and more. Parents, please do not drop off your child before 8:00 a.m. Each participant must have a completed emergency form and necessary waivers to participate. Check out the schedule of exciting excursions! Join Club Phoenix for an after-hours free program.
The Counselor-in-Training (CIT) Program(PDF, 164KB) is a great summer opportunity for teens interested in a future working with children. The program teaches teens how to prepare, organize, and participate in events with school-age children. CITs work closely with, and learn from, the Town’s camp counselors.
Applications are now closed.
If you have any questions please email Derrick Cowles.
Camp Inclement Weather, Refund & Transfer Policies
Weather-related decisions regarding outdoor camps will be made at least one hour prior to the start of camp. Late cancellations may occur due to unpredictable weather conditions.
Camps will be rescheduled when possible. For camps that cannot be rescheduled, a refund will be given for the day.
The Parks and Recreation Department reserves the right to cancel a camp due to insufficient enrollment. All camps require a minimum number of participants. Camps are cancelled two weeks before each session begins.
There are no full refunds given once patrons register for camp. Camp fees must be paid in full at the time of registration. To receive a partial refund, submit a request at least 14 days prior to the start of camp. All refunds are subject to a 50% penalty ($50 max) per camp. Patrons also have the option to transfer to another camp 14 days before the beginning of camp. Any changes regarding registration must be presented in writing. Camps are cancelled if they do not meet the threshold for minimum registration, two weeks prior to the start date of camp. If the Parks and Recreation Department cancels a camp, patrons will receive a full refund. No refunds will be given after the first day of camp without documentation from a licensed medical professional.
The Parks and Recreation Department will prorate camps for students registering late for a camp; however, we cannot prorate the camp fee for students who will miss days during the week of camp.
