Community Survey
Community policing means that our police officers are an integral part of the Vienna community.
Nothing is more important to the Vienna Police Department than for the residents of Vienna to feel safe in their community and for them to feel they are receiving quality police service. The 2023 National Community Survey once again showed that those priority goals are being achieved.
The survey which went to over 3,000 homes in Vienna, returned very positive results for the overall safety of the Town. 97% of those who responded rated their overall feeling of safety in Vienna as excellent or good. Very similar results were achieved for safety during the day, safety at night, safe from violent crime or property crime. The survey also showed that 93% of the respondents rated the police service as excellent or good.
These strong ratings reflect the commitment the Vienna Police Department has to community policing and the relationship between the police and the community. If you would like to see the entire 2023 National Community Survey, click the link. (2023 survey results)(PDF, 266KB)

Flock Transparency Portal
The Vienna Police Department employs Flock Safety technology to collect objective evidence while prioritizing individual privacy. This system allows for retroactive searches to assist in solving crimes after they have occurred. Additionally, the cameras provide real-time alerts for vehicles on a hotlist, enabling the identification of missing individuals, Amber Alerts, and wanted persons. To promote transparency and ensure responsible use, the department has made its Flock Transparency Portal publicly accessible.
