Town offices and the Vienna Community Center will be closed on Friday, July 4 for the Independence Day holiday. Regular waste collection will still occur on a normal schedule.
The U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services Naturalization Ceremony will take place during Vienna’s fifth annual Liberty Amendments Month. The event will start at 3:30 p.m. with live music and entertainment from Mark H Rooney- Taiko: Japanese Drumming followed by a small ensemble performance by the Community Band at 4:30 p.m. The Naturalization ceremony starts at 5 p.m. 15 candidates for naturalization, representing different countries of origin from all over the world, will take the Oath of Allegiance at the Ceremony. Remarks will be delivered by Vienna Mayor Linda J. Colbert, former state delegate Mark Keam, and USCIS Washington Field Office Section Chief Juan Wood/ Vienna. Ella Brown of Vienna Youth Players will sing the national anthem and Girl Scouts from service unit 50-10 will present the colors and lead the pledge of allegiance.
