Traffic Signal - Nutley Street and Courthouse Road
This intersection has two traffic poles with long mast arms holding the signal heads at a diagonal, which does not line up with traffic lanes. Separate left-turn phase traffic lights have been added, which puts extra strain on the poles as well. The Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) Congestion Mitigation and Air Quality (CMAQ) grant allows the Town of Vienna to replace the traffic signals at this intersection with a 4-pole configuration with underground wiring and pedestrian audible countdown signals.
