Walk to Metro - Marshall Road SW
In September 2010, Town Council authorized application to the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) for a Congestion Mitigation and Air Quality (CMAQ) grant to complete sidewalks on all streets within a one-mile radius of the Vienna MetroRail Station. This is a federal grant to assist in completing projects that are regionally significant and provide transportation options to facilitate the use of mass transit.

This project is adjacent to an elementary school and provides a safe path for children to walk or bike to school. The project replaces the existing asphalt path with a permanent concrete sidewalk on Marshall Road SW from Marshall Road Elementary School to Trowbridge Place SW.
