Town Elections in May

Town elections are held each year on the first Tuesday in May. Because the Vienna Community Center is closed for reconstruction, 2016 voting will take place at Vienna Presbyterian Church,124 Park Street NE. Polls are open from 6 am to 7 pm. Voters elect three councilmembers each year and mayor during even numbered years. For the election schedule, visit Fairfax County Office of Elections website or call 703-222-0776.

Voter Registration for Town Elections
You are eligible to vote in the Town's election if you are a Vienna resident, at least 18 years old by election day and a U.S. citizen. You may register in person at the Fairfax County General Registrar's Office at the County Government Center or by mail. Applications are available in the Town Clerk's Office, all public libraries, other locations around the county, and on the Fairfax County website.

Inividuals interested in running for a seat on Town Council should visit the Virginia State Board of Elections' website for candidate information and required forms.

November Elections
For state and national elections, Vienna residents will vote at one of four schools (Cedar Lane, Cunningham Elementary, Madison High School, or Vienna Elementary), depending upon their address. To check your polling location, visit the Virginia Department of Elections website and enter your address.

Virginia has a general election every year on the Tuesday following the first Monday in November. Federal offices are elected in even-numbered years; state and local offices are elected in odd-numbered years. For additional election information, click here.



Absentee Voting
If you will be out of town on election day or are unable to go to the polls because of illness or disability, you may vote by absentee ballot in person or by mail. For information on deadlines, locations, and requirements, visit the Fairfax County Office of Elections website.
