Deferred Compensation (457) Plan
The Town of Vienna has adopted and implemented an optional deferred compensation plan for all full time, permanent employees. The program is administered through ICMA-RC.

Membership in this program is optional and an employee may join this plan at anytime during the year (open season restrictions do not apply.) The purpose of this deferred compensation is to allow employees to postpone receipt of a portion of their salary and receive its value when they retire. The amount of earnings deferred is not subject to income taxes and is not subject to taxation, until the money is paid out upon retirement. These payments are made via payroll deductions and may be increased, decreased or discontinued at any time at the employee's discretion.
