Dr. Nisha Patel is medical director of Nova Eye MD, Inc., an ophthalmology practice with offices in Vienna and Centreville. She also is an associate professor of ophthalmology at Georgetown University.

Born and raised in Orchard Park, New York, a small town similar to Vienna, Patel and her husband moved to Vienna in 2007. Their three children attend Vienna area schools and participate in several of the youth athletic leagues.

Patel is a member of the American Board of Ophthalmology, Northeast Vienna Civic Association (NEVCA), the Vienna Business Association, and the Northern Virginia Academy of Ophthalmology. In 2014, she published a children's book, Princess Avni Gets Her Beauty Sleep.
