Vienna Police Department Construction Project

The Town of Vienna is in the process of constructing a new police department facility, located at 215 Center Street S. This project has been in assessment and planning stages for almost a decade. As design of the facility is finalized, the Town is preparing in summer 2020 to seek bids from pre-qualified construction contractors.

The resulting facility will allow the Vienna Police Department to serve the community in a more efficient and secure manner. The facility will provide needed additional space for current staffing and technological needs. It also will provide the Town with additional community space for gatherings, meetings, and classes.

The Vienna Police Department has been located at 215 Center Street S since 1994 when the current building was erected. The current facility has 9,800 square feet and 24 parking spaces.  In 2007, due to expanding operations and increased technology requirements, the criminal investigations section was relocated to Town Hall. Currently, the Police Department occupies 1,800 square feet in Town Hall.

Police Facility Space Needs Assessment
An assessment to determine the needed space for current and near-future police needs was conducted in 2013. Moseley Architects' report was presented to  Town Council during a May 15, 2013 work session.
