A night for America

The Town of Vienna will put on its annual party-salute to the red, white, and blue starting at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, July 4, at Yeonas Park, located at 1319 Ross Drive SW. Attendees can expect Americana tradition in spades, including music, food, hot dogs, pies, snacks, and, of course, the fireworks’ colorful climax.

Fat Chance will perform rock favorites beginning at 7:15 p.m.

In addition to treats available from the Vienna Little League snack bar, those who register can get their taste of America in the form of two eating contests: Children ages 5-10 can sign up onsite to participate in a pie-eating contest. Adults can give their chomping skills a try in Vienna’s second annual hot dog-eating contest; pre-register at the Vienna Inn or viennava.gov/webtrac.

Fireworks launch from Southside Park at approximately 9:30 p.m. Attendees are welcome to bring chairs and blankets to sit on and enjoy the show from Yeonas Park.

Street closures during the event include Patrick Street, Patrick Circle, Ross Drive (Cottage to George streets), and George Street (Cottage Street to Ross Drive).

July 5 is the rain date, if necessary.
