Town Election Results
In the May 6 Town election, Mayor Jane Seeman and Town Council members Laurie Cole, Edythe Kelleher and Mike Polychrones were re-elected for new two-year terms beginning July 1. The vote totals are as follows: Seeman - 670; Cole - 636; Kelleher - 666; Polychrones - 607. A total of 745 Vienna residents voted in this election out of 10,691 active registered voters, a 7% voter turnout. Thanks to all citizens who took the time to vote as well as those who served as election officers.

FEATURES TOWN COUNCIL
Join Mayor Jane Seeman at the next "Vienna at Your Service" meeting on Tuesday, May 13, from 7:30 to 9 p.m. in the Council Chamber at Town Hall. The Mayor and Town Council will discuss how meeting agendas are set; elections; the responsibilities of the Town Manager, Town Clerk and Town Attorney; and the Town’s Boards and Commissions. In addition, the Information Technology Administrator will talk about the Town Web site. Vienna at Your Service was designed to give citizens the opportunity to learn more about the operations of Town departments.


Bring Your E-waste to ViVa! Vienna!
Recycle your personal computers, printers, phones, faxes, laptops, and related devices and accessories free of charge on Sunday, May 25, and Monday, May 26, from noon to 6 p.m. in the James Madison High School parking lot. The recycling protocol involves shredding any data-containing component, not just "wiping drives," to keep your personal information secure. Budget Schedule
Copies of the proposed Town budget for fiscal year 2008-09 are available for public review in the Administrative Services Office at Town Hall and at Patrick Henry Library. A "Budget in Brief" summary may be obtained free of charge or viewed online, and the entire budget document may be purchased. For more information, call 703-255-6350.
A public hearing on the proposed budget is scheduled for the May 19 Council meeting with a hearing on the proposed tax rate on June 2.
