5. PUBLIC HEARING ON A PROPOSED ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE ISSUANCE OF GENERAL OBLIGATION DEBT OF UP TO $8,000,000.00, FOR VARIOUS PUBLIC IMPROVEMENT PROJECTS.

(Public Hearing for consideration of a general obligation debt to fund the Town Green, sidewalk projects, police facility expansion, water tank improvements, etc.)

Public Hearing closed; bond ordinance approved.





6. AWARD IFB 06-10, FOR DEMOLITION OF 144 THROUGH 152 MAPLE AVENUE EAST (THE WRIGHT BUILDING) AND ROUGH GRADING OF THE PROPERTY, FOR THE VIENNA TOWN GREEN PROJECT.

(Council consideration to award this bid to Tysons Service Corporation in the amount of $94,602.00.)

7. ACCEPTANCE OF PUBLIC IMPROVEMENTS AT KINGCREST SUBDIVISION, KATRINA HINES ECHOLS SUBDIVISION, AND ONONDIO SUBDIVISION.

(Council consideration to accept these new subdivisions into the Town of Vienna’s system for maintenance.)

Approved.





8. APPROVAL TO USE CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT PROJECTS BOND FUNDS TO REBUILD CASMAR AND FARDALE STREETS S.E., IN AN ESTIMATED AMOUNT OF $646,752.38.

(Council consideration to apply CIP bond funds to pay these construction costs.)

9. REQUEST TO CONTINUE RIDING COMMONWEALTH OF VIRGINIA CONTRACT WITH W.W. GRAINGER, INC. FOR THE COOPERATIVE PURCHASE OF INDUSTRIAL SUPPLIES, HVAC SUPPLIES, AND LAMPS IN AN ESTIMATED AMOUNT OF 15,000.00.

(Council consideration to continue riding this state contract for supplies for the Department of Public Works.)

10. REQUEST TO CONTINUE RIDING ARLINGTON COUNTY VIRGINIA CONTRACT WITH DOUBLE H LOCATES, LLC, IN AN ESTIMATED AMOUNT OF $59,000.00, FOR UNDERGROUND UTILITY MARKING SERVICES FOR THE DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS.

(Council consideration to continue riding this contract for another year.)

11. REQUEST TO CONTINUE RIDING MONTGOMERY COUNTY, MARYLAND CONTRACT WITH MANSFIELD OIL COMPANY FOR THE PURCHASE OF GASOLINE, IN AN ESTIMATED AMOUNT OF $120,000.00 THROUGH 02-28- 07.

(Council consideration to extend this contract for another year.)

12. ADOPTION OF THE OFFICIAL MAP, A DOCUMENT REQUIRED BY SECTION 15.2-2233 ET SEQ. OF THE CODE OF VIRGINIA TO BE REVIEWED AND UPDATED EVERY 5 YEARS, AND DEPICTING THE LOCATION OF EVERY LEGALLY ESTABLISHED PUBLIC STREET, ALLEY, WALKWAY, WATERWAY, AND PUBLIC AREA WITHIN THE CORPORATE LIMITS OF THE TOWN OF VIENNA.

(The updated Official Map was presented and approved at a Public Hearing held at the Town Council Meeting of January 30, 2006, and is before Council tonight for adoption.)

13. AWARD OF RFP 06-02, THE MAPLE AVENUE FEASIBILITY STUDY, TO DUNCAN ASSOCIATES IN ASSOCIATION WITH FERRELL MADDEN, IN THE AMOUNT OF $10,000.00.

(Council consideration to award this contract to analyze four different approaches to Zoning control on the commercial corridor of Maple Avenue.)

Deferred.





14. REQUEST FROM THE TOWN OF LEESBURG FOR VIENNA TO SUPPORT A RECONSIDERATION OF THE ELIMINATION OF THE DISCOUNTS, AND RE-INSTATEMENT OF THE FREQUENT TRAVELER DISCOUNTS ON THE DULLES GREENWAY TOLL ROAD.

(Council consideration to submit a letter of support in favor of having frequent traveler discounts for drivers on the Dulles Greenway Toll Road.)
