5. PUBLIC HEARING ON A PROPOSED AMENDMENT TO THE CODE OF THE TOWN OF VIENNA, CHAPTER 6, FINANCE AND TAXATION, SECTION 6-4.2, ELIGIBILITY FOR EXEMPTION OR DEFERRAL, INCREASING THE CAP FROM $240,000.00 TO $340,000.00, AND INCREASING GROSS INCOME THRESHOLDS FROM $12,000.00 TO $20,000.00.

(Council consideration of an amendment which could benefit elderly and handicapped persons on their real estate taxes.)

Public Hearing closed; amendment approved; place on agenda of December 19, 2005 for adoption.






6. REQUEST FOR APPROVAL TO CONTINUE RIDING MONTGOMERY COUNTY, MARYLAND COUNCIL OF GOVERNMENTS CONTRACT WITH INTERNATIONAL SALT COMPANY, LLC FOR ROAD DEICING SALT FOR THIS WINTER, IN AN ESTIMATED AMOUNT OF $30,588.00.

(Council consideration to continue riding this contract for road salt, at about $51.00 per ton.)

Approved.






7. SET DATE FOR A PUBLIC HEARING ON A REQUEST FOR A PROPOSED CHANGE IN ZONING FROM RS-12.5, SINGLE FAMILY DETACHED RESIDENTIAL ZONE TO PR-PARK AND RECREATIONAL ZONE, AND SITE PLAN APPROVAL FOR NUTLEY PARK, A PROPOSED 0.576 ACRE PASSIVE NEIGHBORHOOD PARK TO BE LOCATED NEXT TO THE TOWN’S PARK MAINTENANCE FACILITY AT 247 NUTLEY STREET, N.W. FILED BY CATHERINE SALGADO, DIRECTOR OF PARKS AND RECREATION, AND AGENT FOR THE TOWN OF VIENNA, OWNER.

(Council consideration to schedule a Public Hearing for this Zoning Change.)
