5. PUBLIC HEARING ON A PROPOSED ORDINANCE TO AMEND THE CODE OF THE TOWN OF VIENNA, CHAPTER 9, MOTOR VEHICLES AND TRAFFIC, ARTICLE 1, BY ADDING A NEW SECTION 9-13.2, PARKING OF WATERCRAFT, BOAT TRAILERS, MOTOR HOMES AND CAMPING TRAILERS PROHIBITED ON PUBLIC STREETS.

(Public Hearing to consider possible parking restrictions on public streets in the Town.)

Public Hearing closed; item deferred to Work Session.






6. REQUEST AUTHORIZATION TO RIDE FAIRFAX COUNTY CONTRACT FOR INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY PROFESSIONALS WITH NAG, INC., D.B.A. ENGINEERING SYSTEMS, OF LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA.

(Council consideration to ride this County contract for on-site training, GIS database design, and Map Book Generation for the Dept. of Public Works’ new water and sewer maps.)

Approved.






7. REQUEST AUTHORIZATION TO CONTINUE RIDING COMMONWEALTH OF VIRGINIA CONTRACT WITH SAFEWARE, INC. FOR CLOTHING, UNIFORMS, AND ACCESSORIES FOR THE DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS. THE FUNDING FOR CLOTHING, UNIFORMS, AND ACCESSORIES WAS APPROVED LAST JUNE.

(Council consideration to continue riding this Virginia State contract for these supplies.)

Approved.






8. ADOPTION OF A PROPOSED ORDINANCE TO AMEND THE TOWN CODE, CHAPTER 6, FINANCE AND TAXATION, ARTICLE 3, CIGARETTE TAX, SECTION 6-16, DEFINITIONS THROUGH 6-31, SEVERABILITY, INCLUSIVE.

(This Ordinance amendment was approved at a Public Hearing on November 7, 2005.)

Adopted.






9. SET DATE FOR PUBLIC HEARING TO CONSIDER A PROPOSED AMENDMENT TO THE TOWN CODE, CHAPTER 6, FINANCE AND TAXATION, ARTICLE 1, IN GENERAL, SECTION 6-4.2, ELIGIBILITY FOR EXEMPTION OR DEFERRAL. THIS WOULD AFFECT PERSONS AGE 65 AND OVER, OR PERMANENTLY AND TOTALLY DISABLED AS PROVIDED IN SECTION 6-4.3(B), ETC.

(Council consideration to set a Public Hearing on this proposed amendment to increase eligibility for real estate tax deferral.)
