5. COUNCIL RECONSIDERATION OF AUTHORIZATION TO ELIMINATE THE PICK UP OF WHITE GOODS.
(On April 17, 2004, the Vienna Town Council requested the Department of Public Works to eliminate white goods collection from the Special Pick up program.)
Decision deferred pending reconsideration of item at the mid year budget review.
6. APPROVAL TO EXPEND CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT PROJECT FUNDS FOR STORM DRAINAGE PROJECTS, WITH AN ESTIMATED COST OF $133,141.00.
(The Department of Public Works requests authorization to expend CIP funds from the 1998 bond issue for curb, gutter, and sidewalk improvements on Center Street South.)
Approved.
7. AWARD OF IFB 05-04 FOR TWO CAB AND CHASSIS REFUSE TRUCKS WITH 25 CUBIC YARD REAR LOADERS, UNDER THE APPROVED TOWN OF VIENNA VEHICLE REPLACEMENT PROGRAM.
(Eight different bidders responded to the bidding process, and the lowest one was Weber’s White Trucks of Washington, D.C. with a bid total of $258,400.00.)
Approved.
8. RECOMMENDATION TO APPROVE RIDING MONTGOMERY COUNTY CONTRACT TO PURCHASE AN ALL TERRAIN VEHICLE TO ASSIST WITH SNOW REMOVAL FROM SIDEWALKS, MOWING, SPREADING FERTILIZER, SAND, OR SALT, AND DRAGGING BALL FIELDS.
(The Director of Parks and Recreation recommends the purchase of a Honda ATV model TRX500 for $6,698.50, primarily for its efficiency in sidewalk snow removal.)
