5. RECOMMENDATION FROM THE TRANSPORTATION SAFETY COMMISSION ON A REQUEST FOR TRAFFIC CALMING ON PATRICK STREET, SW
The Council will consider a recommendation from the Transportation Safety Commission for the use of traffic calming devices on Patrick Street, SW.
Recommendation approved for two modified speed humps.
6. PURCHASE OF ADVERTISEMENTS FOR MAPLE AVENUE ENHANCEMENT PROJECT
The Council will consider purchasing advertisements announcing the end of the construction for the Maple Avenue Enhancement Project and welcoming people back to Vienna businesses.
Approved advertisements at a cost not to exceed $5,000.00.
7. CHANGE ORDER #3, CONTRACT IFB 02-05, PHASE 3 MAPLE AVENUE ENHANCEMENT PROJECT TO EXTEND VERIZON CONDUITS TO FOLLIN LANE
The Council will consider approving Change Order #3, Contract IFB 02-05, Phase 3 Maple Avenue Enhancement Project to extend Verizon Conduits to Follin Lane.
Change order #3 to contract approved.
8. CHANGE ORDER #4, CONTRACT IFB 02-05, PHASE 3 MAPLE AVENUE ENHANCEMENT PROJECT, TO REMOVE AND REPLACE UNSUITABLE MATERIAL, DROP 6” WATERLINE, AND DROP 8” WATERLINE
The Council will consider approving Change Order #4, Contract IFB 02-05, Phase 3 Maple Avenue Enhancement Project, to remove and replace unsuitable material, drop 6” waterline, and drop 8” waterline.
Change order #4 to contract approved.
9. REQUEST TO EXTEND PURCHASE OF WATER METERS TO A SOLE SOURCE SUPPLIER, INVENSYS, (FORMERLY SENSUS TECHNOLOGIES, INC.)
The Council will consider a request to extend the purchase of water meters to a sole source supplier, Invensys, (formerly Sensus Technologies, Inc.).
Sole source purchase of water meters approved.
10. SET DATE FOR CLOSED SESSION – MATTERS OF PERSONNEL
The Council will consider convening into a Closed Session on Monday, November 18, 2002, in accordance with the Commonwealth of Virginia’s Code Section 2.1-344A3 to discuss matters of personnel, more particularly the interviewing of applicants to various boards and commissions.
Closed session set for November 18, 2002 at 7:00 PM.
