All candidates for the position of Police Officer
with the Town of Vienna must first successfully
pass the written exam. All individuals who take
the written examination and score a minimum of 70%
on the exam will then be placed on the Town´s
eligibility list and ranked according to their
scores. All position vacancies will then be filled
from this list.
Upon passing the examination, candidates are then required to complete and submit a personal history statement. This document will then be used as the basis for performing all portions of the applicant's background investigations. Failure to return the personal history statement as directed can result in the withdrawal by the Town of the applicant from the eligibility list. This eligibility list will generally be in force for a period of one year. However, this time frame may expand or contract, depending upon the speed in which the list is exhausted. Any applicant's name remaining on the list after it expires will be so notified and provided with information concerning the date, time and location of the next examination. The Town of Vienna reserves the right to remove from the list any applicant who fails to meet any of the standards of the job. |
